Northern Trailhead Grande Chute
In 2025, the focus was to tell the story of Grande Chute. A view was cleared and a bench installed to let visitors imagine the spring log drives. The River Drive Camp Trail was created, a 1- kilometre interpretive trail that reveals the busy log drivers camp at the portage takeout. Friends of Dumoine reconfigured a trailer, donated by Zec Dumoine to showcase the hundreds of artifacts found on the trail or donated by visitors.

Southern Trailhead, Ottawa River
In 2025, Friends of Dumoine acquired the lease at the beginning of the Tote Road Trail. This enabled us to extend the trail 500m to its true starting point; build a public campsite at km 0 on the Ottawa River; complete Phase One of the restoration of the 1918 Rangers' Cabin located on the new lease; place signs explaining the rich history of this site on the shelter; and place artifacts on the trail to show how the road was built. In 2026 we will start Phase Two of the cabin restoration.
